Planting
With the hard landscaping elements of your garden in place our trained horticulturists bring life to these spaces giving your plants the best opportunity to establish by using correct planting techniques.
Tree planting
From single specimens to the creation of small woodlands we are able to source and plant trees from saplings to mature specimens. We are adept at finding solutions for those hard to plant locations and will quickly resolve any problems that arise. We will work to a provided plan or advice on correct spacing and establishment methods, including drainage and specimen support from use of stakes and protective tree guards through to ground anchors. Our maintenance teams can provide irrigation services which to ensure proper establishment may be needed for up to 5 years and can also offer on going checks and tree care.
Hedging & Topiary
When you choose hedging, you choose a living and constantly evolving boundary, usually giving a softer feel to an area than a constructed boundary. Hedging also provides a fantastic habitat for garden birds and creatures, only adding to the complexity and enjoyment offered by your garden. Our designers will advise on plant choice, its suitability, and the growth characteristics of the hedge, and our maintenance team will deliver the correct management to ensure the hedge thrives.
We also install instant hedging, and for those who have an existing hedge and would like this relocated, we have a special excavator spade that allows even quite substantial hedges to be relocated!
Lawns & turf
We provide a comprehensive lawn and turf service, covering installation, establishment, and maintenance. We have the professional expertise to assess the specific requirements of your garden space, from soil preparation to grass mix selection. We can perform soil testing to determine soil pH and nutrient content and are knowledgeable about different grass types.
Our skilled team ensures efficient installation with a properly prepared soil bed and specialist machinery. We are also experienced in installing metal lawn edging and provide post-installation maintenance, including irrigation, to ensure the establishment and growth of a healthy and attractive lawn.
Over time, if a lawn becomes thin or is in a shady spot, moss can spread and outcompete the grass plants. While moss can’t be completely eradicated, we are able to control its growth to reduce its detrimental impact. Lawn aeration is an essential service that improves soil structure by relieving compaction and allowing proper root growth of plants, as well as enabling nutrients and water to penetrate the soil. Lawn scarification removes moss and thatch and helps bulk up grass plants, making it a good idea if your lawn has developed lots of bare patches or moss. We also offer services like removing dead thatch, which, when present in large quantities, can inhibit the growth of new grass and prevent water and nutrients from reaching the roots, encouraging moss to form. After aeration and scarification, the lawn may initially look worse, but the long-term gain is great.

Earthworms improve soil structure by digging tunnels allowing oxygen, water and nutrients to move more freely through the soil, giving plants easier access to these and opportunity for more extensive root growth. As the worms move through the soil the tunnels they create reduce soil compaction and improve drainage. The microorganisms and organic matter they feed on moves through their digestive system becoming more concentrated and providing ideal nutrients for grass growth.
Meadow Management
Even a small area of wildflower meadow in your garden can create a beautiful contrast to manicured lawns and flowerbeds and encourage much-needed bees, butterflies, and insects into the garden. We call this “Wildflower biodiversity,” and it can be achieved instantly by laying wildflower turf or over a longer period by establishing it from seed. We will create a wildflower area you can be proud of. Perennial wildflower meadows are typically mown once per annum after the seeds have dried and dropped from the seed pods. The cuttings are raked and removed. We have a mini baler for larger areas.
