This private country garden was designed by Portus + Whitton.  Cotswold Estates and Gardens Ltd where responsible for all the garden elements including the creation of wildflower and bulb meadow; planting of an orchard with extensive drainage to capture springs. The more formal area of the garden required creating new lawns, hedges, herbaceous and shrub borders , large semi mature trees and mature topiary.

The house had recently been bought and was being renovated by the new owners.  The garden was similarly being completely redesigned, including changing where the drive entered the property and the removal of a disused tennis court.  The Landscape Architects were Portus + Whitton  https://portusandwhitton.co.uk/ who we have done multiple projects for over the years.

Our first priority was to eradicate a clump of Japanese Knotweed on the site, which we successfully achieved.

The project included planting an orchard after the builders had filled in a stagnant pond that has fallen into disrepair, drainage due to the spring line above the property, dredging of the perimeter ditches, the creation of a Wildflower Meadow with an avenue of large topiary Box balls, ornamental planting and lawns around the house, including Yew hedges, a gravel terrace with Yew topiary cones along the front of the house, extensive bulb planting, semi mature tree planting in the paddock below the drive and hedge planting along the roadside boundary, dripline irrigation system for the hedges and semi mature trees, tree surgery to rejuvenate an ailing Walnut tree, fencing and gates.
