This private courtyard garden with a large cruciform pond designed by Oliver Castledine.
The project required very technically exact workmanship, with a large water feature and terraces. The pond was constructed with reinforced concrete base and block wall sides and waterproofed with in-situ fibreglass and finished with Yorkstone copings. ‘Morning’ and ‘evening’ terraces were located either side of the pond, so the clients can enjoy the planting pool and a balance tank was included to keep the water level. There was also a bespoke glass waterspout beneath steps and glass balustrade, designed to match architectural details within the house. Lighting and planting schemes were installed including hardwood planters sourced from Holland.
