BALI Award Winning Garden Design and Construction
“An Italianate theme” was the initial brief for this private garden. The client wanted a stronger, more angular and defined layout for their front and rear gardens, and needed practical requirements to be included
A key element of the brief was to create a sheltered seating area in the rear garden and retain some of the existing plants within the garden, and the front garden needed to accommodate parking.
The use of timber ‘sleepers’ as a theme throughout, as benches, planters and edging, added the structure and angles desired. The strong shapes softened by the planting including the punch of alliums. The introduction of the box hedge edging and bay cones added the required definition to the beds, allowing more informal planting behind.
We designed and installed the bespoke pergola to fit the corner of the garden. The design avoided the need for uprights in the seating area and was cut by a local timber merchant.
The garden won a BALI award for High levels of professionalism and craftsmanship in 2014
